DAYCARE

Apart from benefiting from our well-rounded and comprehensive Kinderland Preschool Programme, After School Care Program is also available for families enrolled at Kinderland. While you are away at work, you will be assured that your child will be in the good hands of our dedicated professionals.
The programs offer an out of preschool hours facility based in the same individually-focused educational environment as the Kinderland curriculum. Our teachers will guide your child through the daily routines of meals and baths with the aim of developing your child’s confidence and independence.
They will also benefit from a more complete and comprehensive programme that is available due to longer connection with our qualified caregivers.

Meals

Freshly Prepared Meals
Highly Nutritional meals are prepared at our kitchen daily by our cook using fresh fruit and vegetables, poultry, and dairy products purchased form the market on a weekly basis. We provide a four-week rotating seasonal menu including lunch and afternoon tea. The ingredients are wholesome, fresh, and for the most part unprocessed.
Children are given:
  • Breakfast
  • Morning Snacks
  • A main meal
  • Afternoon tea
We cater for children with many special dietary requirements. Recipes that make up our menu are from Caring for Children Food, Nutrition and Fun Activities. It should be noted also that cooking is part of our centres program and at times children do cooking activities. Simple activities such as cooking cakes, soups or desserts are fun ways of introducing cooking to the children. We celebrate birthdays often by making birthday cakes.
Please let the staff know if you do not wish them to serve your child certain foods, as we are only too happy to work around special dietary requirements.

Nap Times

Nap Times
Generally, all the children are encouraged to have an afternoon nap. Some may simply have a quiet rest time while others take a nap.
You are only required to provide your child with the napping amenities guided by the school.

Behaviour Guidance

Our policies in this area are aimed at maintaining a safe, secure and low stress environment for children and staff alike. Parents are always consulted if staff feel that children are exhibiting inappropriate behaviour. Appropriate behaviour is always modelled and every effort is made to highlight the intrinsic rewards of appropriate behaviour. Children’s behaviour is never modified by the use of corporal punishment, humiliation or other psychological punishments.

Health

Health
It is essential that children attending our school are healthy. In the interests of other children and staff, children who are deemed unwell by the coordinator or delegated staff members must be taken out of care until they are well.

Mosquito replant

Mosquito replant
Parents are requested to apply Mosquito replant to the child so as to reduce the risk of them being infected by any kind of mosquito contagious viral fever. We also apply all possible ways to keep our environment mosquito-free.

Accidents and Sickness

Accidents and Sickness
If children have minor accidents that do not require medical attention the accident will be recorded on an accident report and the parents will be informed. In the event of children becoming unwell during the day, parents or guardians are contacted after which a prompt collection of the child is required. It is essential that we have at least three emergency phone contacts for us to ring in the event of a child falling ill or having an accident. Parents must keep the school advised of changes to emergency contacts.

Accidents occur when parents cannot be contacted

Accidents occur when parents cannot be contacted
If an emergency arises and it is not possible for school staff to contact parents, we will arrange for an ambulance to transport the child to the hospital. If parents cannot be contacted from the hospital we will also authorize emergency treatment should that be deemed necessary.

Administration of medicine

Administration of medicine
For children who are under medication eg on a course of antibiotics, parents need to authorize the administration of the medicine by completing our School  Medication Register. Medicines to be administered need to be shown to staff who will store them in an appropriate way. Nonprescription drugs such as Panadol are treated in the same way as prescription drugs.
